Imma be honest, DS1 has the worst bosses in the series. Out of 22 bosses, only 3 of them are really good (O&S, Gwyn, and Sif). Actually the Composite bow is so good that even with pure dex, you'll put kinda the same amount of damage than with the Black bow of Pharis. Main difference is, the Pharis bow has the best range in the game while the Composite has the worst. Best thing is to keep both : Composite for fighting at lock range, Pharis for sniping from afar.
